Bromo Arts District

The Bromo Arts District advocates for, represents, and collaborates with artists and art organizations to create a vibrant and accessible cultural hub in downtown Baltimore.

About this A&E District

The Bromo Arts District was established in 2012 to encourage and support a thriving downtown arts neighborhood. With a continually growing art scene, our 117-acre district is home to over 30 cultural organizations, including galleries, music venues, and theaters, and hundreds of artists and those employed through the arts.

The District builds on a significant collection of existing cultural assets, including large visual and performing arts venues and local artist-run spaces offering a professional, high-caliber of visual artistic production and display, performance art, and theatre.

Bromo builds connections between artists, organizations, and industries through collaborative projects, resource-sharing, and district-wide promotion. We support creatives year-round by amplifying their work and creating opportunities for visibility. Our signature Bromo Art Walk brings thousands of visitors into studios, galleries, and venues, while more than 400 annual events keep the district thriving for residents and visitors alike.

District anchors include: Arena Players, Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower, Current Space, Eubie Blake Cultural Center, Everyman Theatre, G. Krug & Son Ironworks, The Hippodrome Theatre, Lexington Market, Maryland Art Place, Maryland Center for History and Culture, and Westminster Hall & Burying Grounds.
