Annapolis Percussive Dance

About this Organization

Annapolis Percussive Dance brings Irish dance and appreciation to families in Maryland, offering weekly percussive dance lessons (old-style Irish step dancing, sean-nós dancing, flatfooting, and American tap dancing) for both children and adults, and hosting multiple workshops and week-long camps for students throughout the year.  Additionally, we have an new community club under Annapolis Percussive Dance called Club Spraíúil.  Spraíúil means “playful” in Irish, and is a club for kids where they can gather with friends to be creative together. Each club meeting has a focus on an aspect of Irish culture or folklore, which is then brought to life through art, crafts, music and dance.  A week-long Club Spraíúil summer camp is also offered annually as a way for young dancers in the Irish arts community to develop both their dance repertoire and their social connections with one another, as well as deepen their knowledge of Irish folklore.
