Center Of Help, Inc.

About this Organization

Mission  The Center of Help’s mission is to empower, educate and connect immigrants with resources to promote self-sufficiency and advocate for the successful integration of the immigrant community into Anne Arundel County and the surrounding areas. The Center provides adult and youth education and case navigators who provide resources and guide clients to access services and become self-sufficient. www.centerofhelp.org Our music program is growing with: Eleven students learning guitar (see their first performance last March before COVID-19 https://centerofhelp.org/guitars-for-change/), ten students learning piano, eleven students learning the violin (two have been accepted at the Annapolis Symphony Academy (ASA) as we prepare them for auditions to meet their requirements), one learning cello (also at the ASA), 16 taking art classes in partnership with Maryland Hall and Creating Communities, and 20 students participated in a photography class last Fall. These students, unable to pay for private lessons, come to the Center of Help and receive 20 minutes lessons once a week. Our students are progressing and need more lesson time each week. The Center organizes the Day of the Death (Día de los Muertos https://centerofhelp.org/first-dia-de-los-muertos-2018/), a free community event each November in partnership with the City of Annapolis and the Flower Festival (Festival de las Flores) each Spring.
