About this Organization
Caitlin hangs out with the misfits and scallywags. She sings loudly and out of tune. She is partial to walks in the rain. But the most important thing is this: Caitlin loves blacksmithing. The Vermont native runs Ms Caitlin’s School in Frederick, Maryland, and Lititz, Pennsylvania, which is dedicated to sharing the craft with as many unsuspecting people as possible. She also teaches around the world. Ms Caitlin is a founding member of the Society of Inclusive Blacksmiths. She is making the craft more accessible and inclusive through pioneering body mechanic research, and neuroscience-based teaching curriculum. When you put hammer to hot steel, you want Caitlin there to guide, mentor, and inspire you. She’s good at lighting fires.Services/Opportunities

How to think about bending metal
See more information about How to think about bending metalWhen you bend metal over the edge of the anvil, you need to have an air gap between your hammer and the edge of the anvil for your metal to bend into.
It's useful if you think about the way paper bends when you try to cut it with loose scissors.
