About this Organization
The National String Symphonia is a professional symphonic string orchestra, the premiere such ensemble in the area. Our mission statement: to preserve, promote and present string music through a diverse array of concert performances, educational workshops, recordings, and innovative programming in Greater Washington and beyond.
The NSS is one of the only a few of its kind in existence and is certainly a rarity in the D.C. Metro and Baltimore regions overall.
In our 12-year history, we have premiered new string works, performed many concerts in Frederick, Howard, and Montgomery counties Maryland, were given a financial donor gift that allowed us to perform at The Kennedy Center, made recordings that added to an audio library that will be accessible world-wide, held instrument petting zoos and a wide range of unique presentations to advance string orchestra music and musicians.
