About this Organization
The Nepal America Film Society (NAFS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Maryland, dedicated to bridging diverse cultures through the art of cinema. NAFS creates an international platform for promoting film culture by organizing screenings, festivals, conferences, and exchange programs that highlight the power of film in connecting global communities.
Since 2017, NAFS has organized the Nepal America International Film Festival (NAIFF), an annual event that has become an essential platform for filmmakers worldwide, particularly those of Nepali origin, as well as filmmakers from the United States and the broader international diaspora.
NAIFF showcases a rich variety of films, including feature films, documentaries, animations, experimental works, and short films, from Nepal, the United States, and around the globe. The festival also features films from the Global Peace Film Festival in Florida, which are screened in a Special Sidebar Section, and highlights works from the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas in the DMV Close-up Section.
