About this Organization

Open Works is a non-profit makerspace with 7 shops; Sewing, 3D printing, Digital Media (digital design, art printing and vinyl cutting), Woodshop, Metal Shop, Digital Fabrication (laser cutting and CNC routing), and Digital Textiles (DTG printing, CNC embroidery, and longarm quilting). Membership is on a sliding scale of $85-$150/month. Pro Members can come in to use any equipment they are trained for during open shop hours, which are offered 70 hours per week. Some equipment requires reservation.  We also offer microstudios- 7x7 cubicle style spaces for members to work on projects outside of the shop environment. Studios start at $205/month, and can be rented separately from pro membership.  Attending an introductory tour (Community Orientation) is a prerequisite to membership; tours are free and offered multiple times weekly.  The Enoch Pratt Library system sponsors a public PC lab with adobe creative suite that is available during open shop hours. No library card is required. The lobby is available for coworking, and houses one of Black Acres Roastery's cafe locations.
