About this Organization

TANTV: A Multidisciplinary Media-Arts Company Rooted in Culture and Community TANTV is a Maryland-based, Black-owned multidisciplinary media company dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices through storytelling, journalism, events, and creative production. Founded with a mission to inform, inspire, and connect multicultural communities, TANTV operates at the vibrant intersection of media, arts, and civic engagement.   Our work spans across digital publishing, visual storytelling, live experiences, and broadcast formats. At the heart of our efforts is a commitment to authentic, community-rooted narratives that reflect the richness and complexity of the African, Black Diaspora, and multicultural experience in America and beyond. From spotlighting everyday changemakers in our news features to curating public events that celebrate culture, music, and food, TANTV is shaping a dynamic cultural presence across Maryland and beyond.   As a content ecosystem, TANTV operates through several core divisions. TANTV News (https://www.tantvnews.com)  serves as our digital newsroom, reporting on health, business, education, politics, and local culture through a community-centered lens. TANTV Africa (https://www.tantvnews.com/Africa) is our dedicated hub for diaspora storytelling, creating cultural bridges between Maryland’s communities and the broader Black Diaspora. TANTV Studios produces original video, photo essays, and multimedia content that gives voice to untold stories and celebrates creative expression across disciplines. TANTV Podcast Network (https://www.tantvnews.com/tantv-talks-podcast-network) as a podcast production studio and marketplace.   Our platforms are both digital and physical. We publish content on Tantvnews.com, across social media, and through newsletters and digital magazines. At the same time, we produce live and experiential programming, such as AfroPicnic DMV, a cultural activation that brought together over 1,000 guests for a day of community-building through art, food, and music. Through these channels, we intentionally create spaces where culture, identity, and creativity converge—uplifting stories that often go ignored in mainstream media.   TANTV’s impact in Maryland is deeply tied to our local roots. We regularly hire local creatives, contract Maryland-based production teams, and partner with venues, food vendors, and civic organizations to bring our work to life. We’ve hosted editorial panels, community forums, and creator workshops that empower new voices and promote artistic exchange. We’ve also provided mentorship and paid internships to aspiring Maryland journalists, video editors, and content creators, contributing to the creative economy and workforce development. What distinguishes TANTV is our multidisciplinary approach. We don't limit ourselves to one medium or format. Instead, we blend written storytelling with film, audio, live experience, and visual design to produce immersive, impactful content. Our magazine issues feature long-form features and photography. Our podcast network hosts conversations with cultural influencers and changemakers. Our YouTube Originals and documentary shorts explore everything from mental health in immigrant families to the legacy of Black-owned businesses in Maryland.   In every project, we are driven by a deep belief in the power of story to shift narratives, build community, and drive social change. We intentionally center equity and representation, ensuring that the stories we tell reflect the communities we serve. We strive to create content that resonates on a personal level—whether it's a video spotlighting a local artist, a live event that brings neighbors together, or a digital feature honoring a trailblazer in education or business.   Looking ahead, TANTV is focused on deepening its impact across Maryland. We plan to expand our cultural event series, collaborate with local artists and organizations on original content, and develop new educational and storytelling initiatives that bring the arts to youth and underserved communities. With support from the Maryland State Arts Council, we aim to continue creating accessible, high-quality programming that celebrates identity, fosters connection, and elevates Maryland’s diverse artistic voices.   TANTV is more than a media outlet—it is a cultural force, a creative studio, a community amplifier, and a storytelling platform for the next generation. We are proud to call Maryland home and are committed to contributing to its vibrant arts ecosystem through our multidisciplinary work.
