About this Organization
Founded as a “free” theatre in 1971, Theatre Project traditionally hosts more than 200 performances and related activities including workshops and classes, post-show discussions, and gallery receptions each year. We are a place for artists to experiment, succeed, sometimes fail, but always grow.
Our professional staff supports artists by assisting in all aspects of their productions, including publicity, technical guidance, box office, on-line ticketing, front of house operations, and backstage running crew, creating a nurturing environment where the artists can concentrate solely on their craft.
Theatre Project is an invaluable resource for the arts community. For 50 years we have presented more than 1,300 productions, featuring more than 12,000 artists! There have been more than 120 productions from international artists. More than 550 world premieres have been presented, including 250 in the last eight years alone! More than 250 local companies or solo artists have performed on our stage since 2011. Project is a cultural gem like no other.
