Cathy Teixeira (she/her) is an arts administrator and grants management leader whose career spans operations, finance, fundraising, programming, and producing. Across roles, her work is grounded in a people-first approach to systems design, equity-centered practices, and a deep commitment to supporting artists, arts organizations, and arts workers.
After more than five years working in the Hudson Valley, NY, she returned to her home state in 2022 to join the Maryland State Arts Council, where she currently serves as Grants Director. In this role, she leads strategy and operations for the agency’s $30M+ annual grantmaking portfolio, supporting more than 1,200 grantees statewide and advancing data-informed, accessible, and equitable funding practices. Prior to MSAC, she was General Manager of the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College, and has held leadership roles at PS21 (Performance Spaces for the 21st Century), Lumberyard Contemporary Performing Arts, and BlackRock Center for the Arts.
Cathy is a member of the fourth cohort of Sphinx LEAD (Leaders in Excellence, Arts & Diversity), a national executive leadership program focused on advancing equity and representation in the arts.
She holds an MA in Arts Management from American University and a BM in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park.
