Flannery Winchester

Flannery Winchester is an artist and arts administrator who currently works with the Arts &  Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) in Maryland, managing the Public Art program. In her role with AHCMC, she oversees the maintenance and conserva/on of the  County’s collec/on of over a thousand public artworks, facilitates new commissions of public art in partnership with County agencies and ar/sts, manages events and exhibi/ons the BeIy Mae  Kramer Gallery, and more. Before joining AHCMC, Flannery supported ar/sts and arts organiza/ons crea/ng public-facing, community-engaged projects throughout the borough of Manhattan while working with the Grants & Services team at the Lower Manhattan Cultural  Council (LMCC). Previously, she worked with the Cultural Affairs department at the Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts (BOPA), where she supported artists in the process of creating temporary public art projects for festivals and managed educational programs at School 33 Art Center. Originally from South Florida, Flannery moved to Maryland to earn a B.F.A. in  Interdisciplinary Sculpture from the Maryland Ins/tute College of Art and an M.A. in Arts Administration from Goucher College. She is passionate about connecting arts with critical resources and communicating with great arts and cultural experiences. In her own practice, she loves to sew and create fiber-based work.
