For over 25 years, Liesel Fenner has worked in public art and design, with artists, design teams and collaborative partners creating temporary and permanent works. Fenner leads MSAC public art programs including the Maryland Public Art Initiative, which commissions artists to integrate artworks into new and renovated state buildings, as well as managing community grants through the Public Art Across Maryland program. She formerly managed public art programs at Americans for the Arts and New England Foundation for the Arts. Fenner also practiced landscape architecture and urban design in the public and private sectors. She completed her graduate studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis.
