Born in Norfolk, Virginia, and based in Washington, D.C., William (Phresh Ingredient) Clarke IV’s photography captures more than a moment. A visual storyteller, community curator, and producer, he specializes in documentary portraiture and long-form photojournalism rooted in film photography. Phresh’s work centers individuals who are often overlooked and creates spaces where people truly feel seen. His images have appeared in print and digital publications, and his exhibition presence spans community spaces, curated group shows, and institutional galleries throughout the D.C. region and beyond. He is currently a first-year MFA candidate in Photography & Media + Society at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), class of 2028, and is interning with the Maryland State Arts Council.
