Aurora by Maurice Draughn

Ensemble Lafayette received a grant from the American Harp Society to commission this work, Aurora, by harpist, organist and composer, Maurice Draughn. Aurora is a three movement work for harp and organ that conveys the essence and aura of the aurora borealis and australis. The luminance from this natural phenomenon is highlighted throughout using the flute stops on the organ and sonorous sound effects of the harp.

Adian Chapman
Adian is a professional actor, director and playwright. Whose main goal is to tell stories people want hear, and give a voice to those to scared to speak up. He wants to create a more wholesome inclusive theatrical environment all while using minimalism to be as environmentally cautious as possible. He loves comedy and bringing joy, but also is a huge fan of horror and suspense. He wants to gain an audience in Maryland, so he can grow his production company.
Wade Davis
Wade Davis, cellist, is in high demand as a solo performer and chamber music collaborator. He regularly performs with the Washington Bach Consort, the Folger Consort, as a guest with the Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, and his own baroque ensemble, S’amusant, co-founded with Patrick Merrill, harpsichordist in 2013. Other appearances include Piccolo Spoleto Early Music Festival, Indianapolis Early Music Festival, The MOJA Festival, The Spire Series, and Bach Ascending.
