See more information about The Call
My second solo guitar CD - The Call - is a reflection of the ongoing practices of meditation, music and Qi Gong affecting my being. My guitar instructor Robert Fripp, who introduced me to a sitting practice, called these pieces “meditations in sound.” These types of comments have been offered about my work for over a decade now by countless others. “Is That How It Is?” is the opening line of the poem The Great Sleep authored by our departed & beloved Dharma teacher Bill Menza. The piece titled “The Call” was inspired by hearing the call to prayer throughout the day when we spent 5 weeks visiting family in Malaysia. Loss, suffering and love inform these pieces of music. But words are not enough, listen & experience what this music has to offer you.

Everlasting Dance Happening Between the Once and Future Trees
The stumps in this piece are sentient. They spend 1/2 the year above water and 1/2 the year below. Once they were tall, growing from a mountain side, but the land was flooded to make a lake, a dam, electricity.

Nowhere Live! We're All Dead
Self produced with the aid of musicians & friends as a way to deal with the isolation & desperation of the pandemic. Over an hour and a half of performances, sketches, & talks about the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, & how they influenced our lives & us as musicians. Hopefully, this humorous honor to America's First & Finest Jam Band will be seen as a respected tribute by Deadheads around the multiverse.

The Highwayman
"The Highwayman" was released in 1985 by the country supergroup, The Highwaymen, consisting of Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, & Johnny Cash. This haunting tune has been with me since &, while my performance shall keep improving, it finally got to a place to share. Performed at the Sunset Restaurant in Glen Burnie. Edit from a live Instagram stream & other cameras. Local guitar, Knaggs Acoustic.

Fly On!!!
The title coming from a mix tape of the same name my late uncle gave me in the 1980's, containing cult classics & hits from his vinyl collection. The song was written & mostly recorded in the backyard where I grew up, the place where I often dreamed of flying with the birds, bugs, bees, & butterflies & climbed trees with crawling critters. It's about fulfilling that dream & finding that love one day, but when?
The recording was meant to be a demo to eventually be rerecorded by better musicians, but I've gotten used to this version. The video was recently made playing with green screen technology & integrating my rusty celluloid animation skills into the digital age.
