Clarence Ward III and his band Dat Feel Good are one of the most sought-after neo-jazz bands based in the DC/MD areas.
Ward III is a flugelhornist, saxophonist, and trumpeter whose lion’s heart style of playing positions him as the vanguard of reinforcing jazz musics’ vital voice in these modern times. He has performed with a diverse range of artists including Gladys Knight, N’Dambi Blue, Robert Glasper, Nancy Wilson, Musiq Soulchild, Benny Golson, Aretha Franklin, and toured with R&B Soul Singer Ledisi.

Having been heavily exposed to music and the arts since early childhood, I am so grateful for my late mother who initiated my formal musical training in elementary school with piano lessons, but drums and percussion became a greater calling. My private instructor trained me as a Jazz drummer. The school band teacher required me to study Jazz, Symphonic and Pop music. The early 80's for me were filled with the sounds of Art Blakey, Coltrane, Mingus, Run DMC, Man Parrish, Fela Akuti, Stevie Wonder, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Terry T. and B.B.
Amatullah'Muhyi Ali is an uprooted artist using various mediums collectively to create genre-bending cinematic pieces that feature and highlight the African diaspora while providing a call to action for all who witness.

Featuring field recordings from Maryland, New York, Delaware, Sierra Nevada in Colombia, and Chubut in Argentina; and handmade flutes built and played by Anna Demetrides, David Benham, Georgia Beatty, Rachel Beetz, Robin Wilson, and Sean Conroy.
The field recordings feature sounds of birdsong at dusk, bubbling streams, buzzing summer insect song, a powerful thunderstorm, and a high tide during horseshoe crab mating season. The flute songs arranged over top were played and recorded by community members, on clay flutes that they built themselves in workshops with me between 2022-2024.
