I am a writer and artist. Learning more into the business aspects of art and my creative nature. Sharing my book and art through my own visual lens.
My drawings and sketchbooks use watercolor and graphite to investigate images in series. I find inspiration in my surroundings and have been working from the same studio window since 1985. My journals have tracked my dreams and creative process steadily since 1977. Limited edition intaglio prints have also been important to my development.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design in Washington, DC and my MA in Art Education from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, MD. With a strong formal education and decades of experience, I endeavor to bring fresh ideas to support clients' needs as well as my own need to communicate visually.

I am a mixed media artist, educator, and photographer based out of Washington, D.C. I combine striking black and white photography with acrylic paint or fabric and upcycled frames as canvases. My artwork not only features my students, but celebrates and honors them as living pieces of art. My art is about them; the photography is them. The subject matter is always them. I like to connect them, placing them in Black history. There’s something beautiful about connecting the past and the present and teaching them visually in that way.
