I paint in natural areas near my home just north of Baltimore, Maryland. I have a BA in Modern Culture and Media from Brown, an MA in English from the University of Maryland, and an MA in Teaching from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. I've also taken courses at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Maryland Institute College of Art. I've shown my work in Maryland and nearby states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and North Carolina.
Alison Gayne, a.k.a. “artagayne”, grew up in Annapolis, Maryland and lived in Portland, Oregon for 15 years, studied art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has recently returned to her hometown. Her passion for art began at a young age. She started pursuing art more seriously while attending Moore College of Art & Design, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2011, her “Bike Art Series” artwork was published in the Bike Art: Bicycles in Art Around The World Book, out of Athens, Greece.
I am an artist, educator, and emotional worker whose educational practice is rooted in using an interpersonal therapeutic framework to guide my personal and professional life. My co-collaborator Karryl Eugene and I develop seasonal projects that serve the black Baltimore Community, specifically children within Baltimore City School District (k-12) and the local black Baltimore Arts Community
