Creativity is no longer a luxury but a necessity for survival.
About the Artist
Digital Art by Adam Zynger Adam Zynger has a background in art and medicine. He exhibited internationally since his high school years and in Baltimore as well, including in BMA (Baltimore Museum of Art) as part of the Artist’s Equity show. In the past he also taught college Art Appreciation and Art History courses. His playful encounters with digital art begun with the purchase of his first computer. The purity of color and new formal potential were just too irresistible to be missed He then decided to share his enthusiasm with a wider audience, exploring the possibilities offered by various media software – a new perspective on the “good old art”. While an editor of Artist’s Equity Newsletter, he published an article on Art and Science, demonstrating an underlying structural similarity in these two, seemingly unrelated, fields. It so happened that historically many mathematicians have quantified such relation, but only recently it was computer- visualized as fractals. You will find different approaches to the same subject/object. But far from being object - oriented, Zynger’s art is form and soul - searching.Artist's Statement

A Spook -Fractal Image
inkjet print
2011
2011 was a year of my fascination with fractal software. While many artists consider fractal art to be inferior to hand-made objects, for me it was a discovery. I made sure not to trivialize it and have apparently succeeded. This particular piece was exhibited at Slayton Gallery in Columbia, MD, where it caught attention of an art critic, and was published in Sun Paper. It went viral on Internet and became a representative piece of fractal art nation-wide.

port-a crock
mixed meida
2020
Port-a-crock is a repurposed sculpture made of mixed media, i.e., discarded and adapted items made originally for different purpose. This would be teaspoons, now crock's eyes, hanger, for feet, tree bark for body, bathroom holders for a handle, etc. I found it fascinating to match variety of objects to create a new entity, which came "alive".

Making Waves # 2 or Splash
acylics on paper
2023
As an art appreciation instructor, I was accused of making waves. I simply explained to students that the bulk of art thru the ages was devoted to eulogizing the totalitarian regimes. It looks like I touched the nerve of the Establishment. I became followed by various snitches who warned people- "he's not religious." Currently it's exhibited at MAP in OOO show. So, I made a splash, hopefully.

Making Waves # 3 a,b or World Origin
mixed media
2023
These alternate views, up and down, were inspired by origin of planet Earth stories. In the beginning was hmm.. earth and air? Right? It is also consistent with my making waves complaints - shouldn't this be Adam and Eve? Whatever!

Rustproof Ideology - triptych
mixed media
2017
Three pieces of repurposed CAC drip pans and old sash window balance. Worked quite well together, revealing a genuine beauty of rust set against plain swatches of color reminiscent of Mark Rothko. Yet, their solemnity rival religious triptychs without the attached dogma. That's why Rustproof Ideology - expressing emotive ideas thru shape, color and texture alone, with reference to nature.
