About the Artist

Amanda (Gough) is a foundationally Black and Aegean multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the layered complexities of identity through the lenses of ancestry, mixed-race heritage, motherhood, spirituality, and femininity. Utilizing various media, she crafts visual narratives that delve into the interplay between personal history and collective memory.   Her art serves as a conduit for examining the intersections of cultural hybridity and spiritual introspection, often reflecting on the nuanced experiences of motherhood and the embodiment of feminine strength from experiences serving in the military to alternative model work. Through her creative practice, Amanda invites viewers to engage with themes of transformation, resilience, and the sacredness of the feminine experience.   By weaving together elements of her diverse heritage and personal journey, Amandas  work offers a poignant commentary on the evolving nature of identity and the enduring impact of ancestral legacies.
