About the Artist
Ed Siu, received his bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute in the summer of 2000. He’s been making art for a few decades amassing a body of work that is diverse and autobiographical. Each piece is part of a meta-narrative about love, sanctification, and the creative process; like puzzle pieces, they fit together and tell a story over time. My art incorporates a range of techniques and Biblical narratives through abstract imagery Take a look at my website: www.edsiu.comFeatured Work

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ
24k Gold Leaf, House Paint, Acrylic Paint, and Paint Pens on Canvas
2020
These pieces are an artistic interpretation of the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Each panel juxtaposes two subjects/images/icons and they tell a story in sequence from left to right; Nail -> Hand -> Thorns -> Lamb -> Blood -> Water.
There is meaning and purpose with the choice of images and calling attention to the flaws with 24k gold leaf.
This piece was abandoned for 10yrs, stored in my basement left to the elements (humidity) and literally decomposed the canvas and wood.
This piece is the catalyst of “The Old Made New” series and weaves in the influence and practice of Kintsugi in a new way.
