About the Artist
Eric Gordon is a studio artist of Otis Street Arts Project in Mt. Ranier, participates in numerous artistic and freelance ventures under the guise of DC Creepers and as one half of Vinyl Vagabonds. Projects include comics with DC Conspiracy, Cartoonists Draw Blood, and various small press publications. He can often be seen sketching on the transit systems of DC. Current works on canvas are amalgamations of several strains of portraiture and storytelling, employing action sketching, gesture drawing, abstraction, creature creation, and re-purposed materials. Much like a page in his sketchbook, works are intended to deliver incongruous styles into complete, engaging, and contemplative compositions. He is a Social Worker as well with experience working as Service Coordinator for the Washington DC based Art Enables, vocational day program for artists with disabilities. He also co-founded and ran the Studio In-Sight vocational arts program at St. Luke's House psychiatric rehabilitation center in Montgomery County, MD.Artist's Statement
