About the Artist
Jeff Muller is a musician, songwriter, and producer living in Silver Spring, MD who has an abiding love of roots music, especially the variety coming out of New Orleans. His musical career has taken him from Annapolis to New Orleans to Silver Spring, having played guitar and/or bass around the US and in Europe with more than 100 different acts over 30+ years. Over his career he has appeared with many legendary artists including Allen Toussaint, Cyril Neville, and Eva Cassidy. Jeff released a critically acclaimed album entitled Jes Grew in 1996 and wrote music for Tipton which was named one of the top 5 plays in Pittsburgh the same year. After a sporadic period of songwriting that produced a limited number of songs (such as Tell Me About It on the 2005 album The Rich Chorné All Stars Featuring Nadine Rae), Jeff is back with lots of new material ready to record, having recently released several singles, including Odd Times Blues (featuring DC blues legends Tommy Lepson and Mark Wenner), My Baby Loves to Dance (featuring former Chuck Berry piano player Daryl Davis), and (This is the Way We Do It) Down in Naptown, a tune recorded as a benefit for the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians (AMFM) that involved more than 70 Annapolis-area musicians. He is currently working on a new album to be titled Naptown to NOLA, which includes contributions from more than 60 musicians from Louisiana and Maryland, including notable performers such as Ivan Neville, George Porter, Jr., Ron Holloway, Tricia Boutte, and Deacon John. Celebrating and amplifying music as a communal force, the project also involves collaborations with a number of other creatives including artists, designers, videographers, photographers, and more. The album is planned for release in fall 2025.
