About the Artist

Judith Krummeck is a writer, broadcaster, and immigrant living in Baltimore. She is the evening drive-time host for Maryland’s classical music station, WBJC, 91.5 FM, and she is the author of three books. "Beyond the Baobab" is a memoir in essays about her immigrant experience. Her biographical memoir "Old New Worlds" intertwines the immigrant stories of her great-great-grandmother and her own, and was a finalist in the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the 14th Annual National Indie Excellence® Awards. Her debut novel "The Deceived Ones" is a contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" set in Baltimore. Her screenplay "Philida," based on the novel of the same name by the award-winning South African writer André Brink, is currently in development. Judith is the recipient of two MSAC creativity grants. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts from the University of Baltimore, and her work has appeared in publications such as The Rumpus, Atticus Review, Past Ten, Monkeybicycle, and Baltimore Fishbowl.
