A Mythical March Mural
Acrylic Paint, House Paint, Gesso
2021
The Mythical March Mural is 140 ft long mural drawn and designed by me with help from over a 100 people from the Long Reach Village Center community in Howard County Maryland. It depicts a huge range of various mythological creatures marching into the doorway of the DoodleHATCH Museum, I prioritized scale and really focused on making the creatures "interact" with each other which really makes the band of characters feel alive. I lead a team of painters and focused on finding each artists strengths and interests then having them work on parts of my composition that I felt would suit them This allowed for a sense of collaboration while still maintaining a unified and coherent vision.

The project involved over 50 community members and combines traditional 2D materials and 3D objects like beads and rhinestones.
Bamboo Bending Lotus Installation
Bamboo, Wire, Paint, Cement, Buckets, Metal Rings
2022
This art installation was commissioned by the Asian Arts and Culture Center at Towson University. It revolved around creating a bamboo forest where visitors can enter a gallery space surrounded by tall stalks of bamboo and experience the Diwali tradition of lighting diyas. In the middle of the space we bended stalks of fresh bamboo in the shape of lotus flower, a flower significant in many east Asian cultures. Each petal of the flower held several empty diyas, during our gallery opening/lighting ceremony electric candles were handed to visitors entering the space. Each visitor could then place their candle into one of the empty diyas eventually causing the dark installation space to glow with light.
