About the Artist

Melissa Daoulas is a seasoned writer, producer, and educator with a decade of experience in streaming platforms and television networks. She started her career working for National Geographic while at the University of Maryland, where she was responsible for technical video evaluations for US, International and Nat Geo WILD programming. She credits her time there as being pivotal for her love of media arts. Melissa continued her career in video editing and producing with National Geographic, while attending graduate school at American University. Additionally, she produced under Discovery's TLC Network, representing some of the network's biggest social media brands. Melissa has taught as an adjunct instructor on film and television marketing for graduate level courses, and serves as an educator for magnet arts programs in Maryland. She currently works as a freelance producer and is the owner of Melissa’s Creative Media LLC — a marketing agency that manages social media and brand marketing for small businesses and organizations. Melissa holds a master’s degree in Producing Film, Television, and Video from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland. Most notably, she is an active member of Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's most prestigious honor society.
