About the Artist
Na'ilah Dawkins, CID has been an Avant-Garde Modern Dance Choreographer (2008 - Present) in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She has been dancing since 12 years old. Her choreography journey specifically began in sophomore year (2007) of high school, and professionally as part of the Penn State Harrisburg Dance Team (2012-2013). She has been a Fiber Arts Artist (Hand Embroidery & Cross-Stitching) since 2021. Na'ilah Dawkins, CID was a Modern Dance Instructor (part-time) to young girl toddlers "Tiny Tots", adolescents, and pre-teens with the prestigious Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) at two different Maryland locations (2017-2022). She has since continued her expertise, love, and passion in dance & dance choreography with becoming a formal member of the following dance organizations: Dance Metro (2022-2023), Counsel of International Dance (CID) of UNESCO, the Folklore Society of Greater Washington (2024 - Present), and St. Columba's Scottish Country Dance Group (2024 - Present).
