SUE-C

Multidisciplinary, Multidisciplinary Art, Music / Sound, Performance, Theatre

I create live cinematic performances that engage the innate creativity of the audience members, bringing their own lives into the experience. My work has an element of magic and is accessible to all audiences. I am an avid collaborator and educator. One of my super powers is explaining technical things to non-technical people. I have helped hundreds of artists incorporate coding into their practice. My favorite events to arrange are ones where I can do a performance and a workshop.

Artist's Statement

My artistic style and vision came of age in San Franciso in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was exploding with creativity then and there was an abundance of underground artist-run performance spaces. I work mainly in the abstract visual world, synthesizing cinematic images out of photographs, drawings, translucent objects, shiny things, textures, papers, and handmade masks. I incorporate a loose storytelling element, often inspired by famous works of literature, and I am always looking for musicians to collaborate with. I am currently working on a live comedic theater performance supported by a 2020 Creative Capital Award that will be ready to tour in late 2021, and I am collaborating with the band Negativland.

Booking

Booking Price: $1,001-$2,000

Contact me directly for all booking inquiries, at least two weeks in advance of the engagement. I love collaborating with musicians. I can perform indoors or outdoors, on or off of a stage, for all types of events: sit-down theatre, outdoor casual, outdoor formal, virtual and installations viewed at a distance.

I need a sound system and a projection system, a table with power run to it either on or off the stage.
