About the Artist

Life is art, and art is my lifeline. Growing up in South Carolina, where my great aunt and uncle raised me due to my father’s imprisonment and my mother’s mental illness, was challenging and formative. As a 26-year-old black queer woman engaged to another black queer woman, I navigated my sexuality in a climate of isolation and stigma. Art became my sanctuary, allowing me to process my emotions and dreams through mixed media, including painting, clay, beads, and digital design. My work is a testament to the healing power of creativity and serves as a therapeutic outlet for my mental health and self-expression.
