Dr. Laura Armstrong is a faculty member of Mount St. Mary’s University and Frederick Community College, where she teaches clarinet, saxophone, and music fundamentals. She has performed in recitals in the Mid-Atlantic region and has performed as a soloist at the International Clarinet Association’s Clarinet Fest held in Ostend, Belgium in 2018.
Von Vargas is a multi-faceted Music Creator. He is a Hip Hop artist, multi-genre music producer, songwriter, musician and DJ. He’s passionate about creating hip-hop music that highlights solutions to social ills that plague America’s inner-city communities. A champion of justice for uplifting and betterment. Von is most recently responsible for creating music cues for the Peacock TV Original Series “True Stories".
Seth Kibel is one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier woodwind specialists, working with some of the best bands in jazz, swing, and more. Wowing audiences on saxophone, clarinet, and flute, Seth has made a name for himself in the Washington/Baltimore region, and beyond. He is the featured performer with The Alexandria Kleztet, Bay Jazz Project, Music Pilgrim Trio, The Natty Beaux, and more. Winner of 28 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies), including "Best World Music Instrumentalist" (2003-11) and "Best Jazz Instrumentalist" (2005, 2007-8, 2011-14).
Born at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Elizabeth Skola Davis moved frequently growing up. Under the tutelage of her mother, she studied voice before moving on to the piano, organ and cello, then earned a B.M. in cello performance from the University of Evansville. While pursuing a master's degree at Louisiana State University, she shifted majors from performance to music theory, then ultimately to music composition. As a student of Dr.
Darion Smith, artistic director, resident choreographer, and co-founder of Janusphere Dance Company (JDC).
Ayesis Clay is a distinguished Theatre educator, stage director, and nationally sought-after performer. Her solo show, Sculpting Clay or How I Became Mother of Unicorns, has been featured at the John F. Kennedy Center (Washington, DC), the 2022 Educational Theatre Association’s National Teaching Conference (Los Angeles, CA), and in school districts nationwide.

Theresa Columbus is a performance artist, playwright, educator, filmmaker, and organizer. She has performed extensively in venues across the country, including the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, the Transmodern Festival, and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. She has created, co-directed, and acted in many film and video projects. Her feature-length film with co-director Didier Leplae screened at Anthology Film Archives among other festivals and theaters.

A social entrepreneur and award-winning sex and relationships educator, she has appeared on CNN, NPR, Sirius, CBC (Canadian National Radio), Paris Première (French Television), and in documentary films. She has written for The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Time Out New York, Lifetime, Mashable, Nerve, New York Press, Fast Company, and The Huffington Post. Her work also appears in the books Six-Word Memoirs on Love and Heartbreak, Migration and Immigration: A Global View, and On Purpose: Rhetorical Analysis of Non-Fiction.

Aloha and welcome to Meki’s Tamure Polynesian Arts Group, Inc.! We were founded in 1969 by Meki & JoAnn Toalepai who were performers at Baltimore’s most famous tiki restaurant – The Hawaiian Room in the Emerson Hotel. Meki is an immigrant from Western Samoa performing across the United States in the early 1960s when he met JoAnn who was a Baltimore native that practiced hula as a hobby. They met when Meki’s group had a contract with the Emerson Hotel to provide entertainment. The Hawaiian Room closed around 1970 and the Emerson Hotel was demolished in 1971.
