I am a self-taught artist based in Salisbury, Maryland. While I have always enjoyed the arts, and visual arts in particular, I did not start drawing and painting seriously until about 12 years ago, at age 50.
My art is where I can find peace, joy, and energy all at once. I work primarily with acrylics, artist markers, colored pencils, and sometimes a combination of all three. Above all, I enjoy using my imagination and creating unexpected scenes.

Hello, I’m Gavin Lamar Doyle and I am an independent artist and writer currently living in Columbia, MD. I have always loved drawing and building worlds while crafting characters that reflect my environment. My inspiration for my storytelling are Stephen king novels and old vhs films people forget about.
I was born and raised in Washington, DC. From drawing the green ranger for my kindergarten self-portrait to getting in trouble for coloring characters on the back of my homework. I’ve always had a passion for illustrating characters and storytelling. As a child my uncle would joke and say “you’re going to grow up to be a cartoon”, and honestly I couldn’t agree more. I attended the visual and performing arts program at Suitland Highschool, majoring in Fine Arts. Shortly after graduating, I dove right into my college career at the Art Institute of Washington.
