Joyce Simmons
Even as a child, Joyce was drawn to creating her own artwork. Coloring books were frustrating, because they only offered two pages that appealed to her, the blank insides of the front, and back covers. That love of creating continued through the GP Art program in High School, and the thrilling opportunity to attend Ringling College of Art and Design.
Barbara Kern-Bush
Barbara began painting on her own, without instruction at around the age of 14.  Her only path seemed to lead to college.  After graduation, in an effort to fulfill her deep longing to find the “secrets” and learn and grow from the great masters, Barbara continued to study, on her own, all she could.  During her 5 year career as a high school art teacher, because of this extra pursuit of knowledge and experience, she was able to find opportunities to teach adults.  She was also able to enjoy working the art fairs and festivals as a pastel portrait artist during summers and weekends, while also
