Self-taught traditional artist specializing in acrylic painting, graphite and ink drawing, and woodburning. The majority of my work revolves around themes of horror and spirituality. My art is also heavily inspired by the gothic and black metal subcultures.
Juanita Banks-Whittington is an award-winning children's book author, Army veteran, social worker, and diversity practitioner residing in Odenton, Maryland. She specializes in writing children’s books that highlight positive relationships and bridge diversity gaps, aiming to introduce young minds to a future where they feel seen and represented within the pages of her books.
Artist Melanie Denise Coburn draws inspiration from her upbringing in Baltimore City, with its row homes, community and shared walls. Her artistic journey began with museum visits and art projects led by her mother. Nurtured by her mother’s encouragement of creative exploration, art was an inseparable part of Melanie’s life. Melanie’s continual passion for art led her to the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Starting in 2007, Melanie shares her love for art as a dedicated teacher at Mercy High School, teaching students in grades 9 through 12.
Denise was born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince George's County Maryland. A Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Management graduate from Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) with 20 years’ experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. During the latter portion of Denise's high school career, she awakened her interior and fashion design skills and later served as Assistant to her crafts teacher in 12th grade after enjoying the course the prior year.
Tedd Henn is an event photographer in the Baltimore metro area. He seeks collaboration in any and all mediums of artistic endeavors and expression. He likes to express himself through photography of woodlands and baseball games.
Compass Rose Theater, founded in 2011 by Lucinda Merry-Browne, is an award-winning small professional theater nonprofit organization with an educational mission. Compass Rose Theater offers theater classes, workshops, a Young Actors Studio, and several performances year-round. Performances are held at Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Maryland. Our teachers have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in theater and work in the professional theater world, training students at schools, camps, events, and on-site at our theater in Maryland Hall.
Stephanie Comegys is a self-taught artist living in Maryland. She is inspired by faith, human experiences, concepts, and emotions. Stephanie creates as an outlet to both explore and express in ways that words fail. For many years she laid down the art, to attend college, earn degrees in Psychology and counseling, and pursue a career setting up services for people with Developmental Disabilities.
