Stained and Fused Glass Artist
I work primarily with glass, both the more classic stained glass techniques as well as relatively modern fusing techniques. I like to use these techniques in combination with unusual, often recycled, materials. I teach stained glass techniques at Montgomery College. I also repair damaged stained glass pieces.
I do have a shop on Etsy (GlassByDaveDotCom), but most current work is featured on my Instagram account (glass_by_dave)

Executive Manager interviews with Kent Pilot
The Upper Shore is blessed with some live entertainment venues. One of those is The Church Hill Theatre, Inc. The building located on Walnut Street in Church Hill was originally built in the 1920s as a community hall. It later was converted to a movie theater and known as the “The Showcase of the Eastern Shore.” For the past 30 years it has been the home of The Church Hill Theatre Company, a hub of live stage theatrical productions.
It was a banner year for the theater in 2019, but it produced only one live show in 2020 – Other Desert Cities – before the lights went out in March due to COVID-19.
Carmen Renée, the theater’s executive manager, took her position at the theater just weeks before Gov. Larry Hogan closed all public venues in the state to stop the spread of COVID-19.
At the start of 2020, the theater pivoted to online ZOOM performances, including the world premier of John Carl Haas’ The Worst Choice in February of 2021.
Ms. Renée sat down with the Kent Pilot’s Steve Meehan to discuss live theater in the age of COVID-19, the renovations underway at the theater and what it will look like when patrons return for live performances in the post COVID-19 world.

Corporate life was fun and exciting..chased the promotions...met deadlines..exceeded the quarterly goals...did it all by dressing up for the part, sharply creased trousers, shiny shoes, crisp cotton starched shirts, and ties that begged for attention....but found myself happiest making things with clay, wood and now even with cardboard.
And when I would not listen to my calling..I was let go and found myself face to face with who I really am and want to be...
