I am a fiber and ceramic artist whose artwork is inspired by Byzantine and medieval art. I stitch hand embroidered images set in architecturally inspired frames of hand built ceramics and found objects. Along the way I have engaged in a number of related pursuits.
Trace Miller was born in western PA and now resides in Towson MD where he is a lecturer and assistant chair in the Department of Art + Design, Art History, Art Education at Towson University.
Miller received a BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. His work has been exhibited extensively in the Mid-Atlantic region and is currently represented by Goya Contemporary. www.goyacontemporary.com
Andrea has exhibited her work with several galleries and art societies. Among these are the Baltimore Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, The Torpedo Factory, Montpelier Cultural Arts Center, the Gaithersburg Art Barn. Most recently, her art work was displayed at the 109th Catharine Lorrilard Wolfe International Show at the National Arts Club. She also was juried into the Georgetown International Arts Show, and the 2005Philadelphia Watercolor Show.
Rice McKelvin is a mixed media portrait artist that lives in the Baltimore area. Their passion for art history and pop culture influences their work. Their unique experiences have left them with PTSD, that they choose to draw inspiration from. Art started as a way for Rice to cope with abuse and has grown to aid in their recovery from it. Their artwork has always represented personal hope for the future, and now helps them solidify and explore the progress they have made. Rice has also been using their art to help fully explore their identity, and relationships.
Lynne Parks was born and raised in Northern Virginia and she has lived in Baltimore, MD since 2003. She has a BA from Hollins University with an independent major in creative writing/theater/film studies. Through found abstract photography she addresses facial difference. As Outreach Coordinator for Lights Out Baltimore, she raises awareness about avian conservation issues through her work as a practicing artist and curator. Lately, she has focused on the loss of birds from building collisions via photography, site-specific installation, and sound.
J. Jordan Bruns is an artist and teacher living and working in Maryland and a Glen Echo Park resident artist working in the Chautauqua Tower. He recently returned from a three-year sabbatical in Tokyo, Japan (2018-2021) where much of his current aesthetic influences stem from.
Born in Maryland and raised in both Maryland and Maine, Christy continues both residences where she has studios. After graduating from the Maryland Institute College of Art, she earned an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania. During that time she spent an invigorating summer at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. Christy's teaching art to school children on Long Island where they were visually describing their experiences, led her to financially support herself as an artist with a career in art therapy.
Patrice Drago is an abstract and non-objective artist, working mostly in acrylic and mixed media. Originally from New York, she has lived up and down the East Coast from Maine to Florida, and is now residing in Annapolis, Maryland. She's been creating art in various forms all her life. Her artistic roots are in abstract expression since grade school, progressing to painting on sheets hung from the ceiling in high school. She has worked in all 2D media and continuously explores new techniques that will help her fully express her vision of the urban environment and the natural world.
erry Sitz is a native Washingtonian and 3rd generation artist.
Her work is an excavation of self that is enhanced by a dedicated yoga practice and a commitment to sharing in a vulnerable and authentic way. While having studied with a number of artists, she credits her DNA for her strong sense of composition and eye for looking at things differently.
Jowita Wyszomirska was born in Poland and immigrated with her family to Chicago in the early 90s. Jowita received her BFA in painting in 2003 from Illinois State University and will receive her MFA from University of Maryland in Spring of 2016. She has exhibited in solo and two-person exhibitions at VisArts, Rockville, MD, SM&KK Studios in Chicago, The Temporary, MICA and Member’s Gallery, School 33, Baltimore MD in addition to a recent group show at the BMA (Baker Artist Award Exhibition).
