Mary Clark
Mary Clark is the winner of the 2021 Crazyhorse Fiction Prize, selected by Rumaan Alam. The winning story “Steppie” looks at a woman’s love for children and also her chosen childlessness, a mix that’s sometimes hard for her to square. Mary pulled almost all of that short story from a chapter in her recent novel manuscript.  In an interview with Crazyhorse, she talks about the inspiration for her prizewinning story.
Howard Ehrenfeld
Howard has been a professional photographer for over 40 years and have worked out of his own studio, Studio H, for the last 35. He originally came to Baltimore from New York to study at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts degree. His award-winning work involves layering and collaging of images—both in film and digital. A very early adopter of digital, Howard was a beta tester for Photoshop and coauthored a book on Photoshop—Photoshop 4 Complete.
PLANTA
My present artistic inquiry explores the visceral and analytical impact of narrative and aesthetic forms. My images are provoked by identity, ancient narrative and colloquial expression. My work is also inspired by the aesthetics and influences of popular culture, cinema, celebrity, music and social media.
