Groupmuse Foundation
Groupmuse Foundation is expanding classical music to be more inclusive and vibrant by empowering musicians through financial, technological, and career support.
Metro Baltimore
Located in the heart of the Station North Arts District, Metro Baltimore, previously know as The Metro Gallery, has been a cornerstone of Baltimore’s vibrant music scene since 2007. Our impeccable sound quality is just the start; it’s our staff’s passion for music and dedication to community that truly distinguishes us. Proudly serving as a second home to both emerging local artists and nationally touring acts, we curate moments, not just shows. Our bar complements the experience, offering an array of finely-crafted cocktails.
Glenda
Growing up in a family restaurant with my mother, I learned the importance of pursuing dreams while nurturing my mind, body, and spirit. The practice of Buddhism and meditation, which she introduced to me, has been a transformative journey. It has helped me heal from past traumas and connect with my inner being, shaping my artistic identity. As a self-taught artist, my diverse cultural background and life experiences fuel my creativity. I’m grateful for the support of donors who believe in my work and allow me to find joy in doing what I love.
The Chicory Project
In November 1966, the Enoch Pratt Free Library published the first issue of Chicory, a groundbreaking magazine of poetry and art by Baltimore residents. Edited by local poet Sam Cornish, Chicory was initially funded through the federal Office of Economic Opportunity’s Community Action Program, under the local leadership of Evelyn Levy, supervisor of Library Services for the Community Action Program, and Thelma Bell, one of the first African American children’s librarians at Pratt.
