~~Born and raised in New York City, Jay's early art creations were greatly influenced by comic book artists such as John Romita, Steve Ditko, and Jim Steranko. During the late 70's and early 80's, Jay tried unsuccessfully to join the artistic ranks of both Marvel and DC comics. By 1982, he had become discouraged with the comic book style art that he had been doing, and proceeded to drastically change his style of art. This was the year that he plunged headlong into Pen & Ink Pointillism.

My name is Tyler Smith. I’m 19 years old and I’m an upcoming artist. I have been creating art since the 3rd grade. I loved art since then and always will. Art is my passion. I didn’t realize that though until the beginning of 2017. As a kid and up until high school I liked doing art, but I didn’t take it seriously up until about a year ago. Between the years of my life, I would stop and go, stop and go with art. I never thought it could be a career for me. It turns out, I was totally wrong. Art is all I want to do now in life.
