Angie Coulson (b. Columbus, OH) works in the mediums of painting and drawing. She graduated from The Ohio State University, with a dual major in Art and World Economy and Business in 2014.
Inspiring her creative work are the connections she finds between her background, personal life, inner mind, and the observable world. She sees the painting and drawing surface as an area to demonstrate, solve, and surrender.
Art has always been my passion, throughout my years I have dabbled in all types of styles and mediums. About two years ago I was told that not everyone could see color when they listened to music so I did more research on this and it turns out I have a neurological condition chromesthesia. To help explain what chromesthesia is I have been recreating how I see music using alcohol and ink on yupo paper and acrylic paint on canvas. My goal is to eventually find a way to recreate an interactive immersive way to really show what having chromesthesia is like.
