Sankofa Foundation Incorporated is a U.S 501 (c) 3 non profit arts organization that promotes cultural arts, educate the community about Africa and its rich cultural heritage through workshops, classes, lectures, events, festivals, study/intern abroad, international trade missions and preserve the African heritage in the diaspora.
Explore a mix of classical, contemporary, jazz, and tango works of huge emotional breadth written for clarinet, horn, and bassoon trio. Three Reeds and a Horn performers include Natalie Groom (clarinet), Kat Robinson (horn), and Qun Ren (bassoon). In two short years, the trio has commissioned twelve works and has performed numerous premieres. The trio is a proponent of "flex" chamber music, music that can be played by many combinations of instruments, and has been a key ensemble in the promotion of Natalie Groom's Flexing the Canon project.
Ali Oliver-Krueger is a teaching artist, director, performer and playwright/composer of plays for young audiences. Her most recent play has been performed for nearly 30,000 children and adults last season. As a professional artist educator, Ali has worked with school systems, arts organizations, and community partners in Maryland, throughout the region, and across the country.
