We believe in fun.
We believe in education for all and creativity in all education.
We believe the artistic experience improves when we celebrate all kinds of music as important.
We believe that the friendships we’ve made across geographical, political, and cultural boundaries demonstrate the power of music as an instrument of peace.
We believe that women hold the key to the future. Girls don’t have to bear the burden of the world on their shoulders– they can cut loose from time to time, too!
About the Artist
The Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet is serious about the fun side of music. By blending varied musical genres and performance styles with pop culture, the quartet aims to demonstrate that music and laughter are universal languages. The group formed in 2008 as students at the Eastman School of Music (USA), and after a YouTube video of their Lady Gaga Saga went viral in 2011, they developed a global fan base. They have since performed as soloists with the Yale Concert Band, West Point Band, and Eastman Wind Ensemble and have been invited artists of IDRS, Beijing International Bassoon Festival, and music conferences and festivals across the United States. The Breaking Winds have toured internationally to China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Spain. To date their YouTube channel has nearly 3 million views, and it has received press from NPR and MTV.The Breaking Winds Bassoon Quartet website The Breaking Winds Website
