About the Artist
Meki is an individual artist who is diversified in traditional cultural arts and mainstream arts. He is an accomplished musician, singer, dancer, emcee, speaker and cultural ambassador who uses his artistic abilities for education, entertainment and instruction. He also serves as the Director of Meki's Tamure Polynesian Arts Group, Inc. which is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to perpetuate the cultural arts of Polynesia. Meki is also the Director of Island Breeze Band which is a cover band providing music for all occasions. He is also the Chairman of Pacific Fun Day Festival which is Maryland's only Pacific Islander Festival which was started by his parents in 1985. In 2019, Meki was appointed by Governor Lawrence Hogan to serve as the first and only Pacific Islander in his Office on Asian Pacific American Affairs.
