Aloha...I'm here to diversify the arts in Maryland. As a Pacific Islander, I promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) with every offering of mine...help me!!

About the Artist

Meki is an individual artist who is diversified in traditional cultural arts and mainstream arts. He is an accomplished musician, singer, dancer, emcee, speaker and cultural ambassador who uses his artistic abilities for education, entertainment and instruction. He also serves as the Director of Meki's Tamure Polynesian Arts Group, Inc. which is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to perpetuate the cultural arts of Polynesia. Meki is also the Director of Island Breeze Band which is a cover band providing music for all occasions. He is also the Chairman of Pacific Fun Day Festival which is Maryland's only Pacific Islander Festival which was started by his parents in 1985. In 2019, Meki was appointed by Governor Lawrence Hogan to serve as the first and only Pacific Islander in his Office on Asian Pacific American Affairs. Meki is a lifelong Maryland resident, award winning artist and recipient of several MSAC grants over the years.

I perform this traditional dance that was taught to me by my father. He made it famous when he arrived here in Maryland and was a regular performer at the Emerson Hotel' Hawaiian Room in downtown Baltimore.
This is my promo photo used when I play as a soloist at private events or senior centers around Maryland. I enjoy wearing Aloha attire and encourage guests to do the same...hoping to grow my Ohana (family).

We entertain all over Maryland and surrounding states sharing the cultural arts with audiences whenever we can. Here we're teaching luau guests how to do a Hawaiian hula dance. Everyone has a great time!
I serve as the first and only Pacific Islander in the Governor's Office on Asian Pacific American Affairs. I am pushing for my people to be in the spotlight to showcase their beautiful cultures.
My band provides diversity of music and ideology. There are no other Pacific Islanders rep-ing on the music scene.

Booking Price: $1,001-$2,000

Call or email...I can fill 10 minutes to 5 hours of entertainment/education or instruction. I can work as an individual artist or with my ensembles.
