Bearded Dragon, Unusual Pet Project, Baltimore, MD

2023
This is Elliot, the Bearded Dragon and his favorite human.
In January 2023, I started my "Unusual Pet Project" of Baltimore series to ward away the winter blues. Animals make me happy and learning about them opens my mind up to a world outside of my own: the world our pets experience. In this project, I'm photographing rare pets and their owners to showcase the incredible and surprising creatures our Baltimore neighbors have behind their front doors. From flying squirrels, to macaws; from ball pythons to veiled chameleons; dwarf hamsters to albino donkeys, I am showing you, through documentary and portrait photography, the menagerie this city holds.
