About the Artist

Sarahia Benn is a premier multi-instrumentalist, high energy performer, music educator, media consultant, concert promoter, producer, songwriter, and arranger. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where she either studied, graduated, or worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Lalah Hathaway, Quincy Jones III, Delfeayo Marsalis, David Dyson, Paula Cole, Juliana Hatfield, the late-Roy Hargrove, Danilo Perez, and the late-Jeff Ramsey. She studied under the late Andy McGhee sideman to Lionel Hampton & Woody Herman, top Berklee Instructor. Then George Garzone, Jazz educator and sideman for Danilo Perez, Joe Lovano, Jack DeJohnette, Rachel Z and John Patitucci among others. Studied under Jack Perricone, co founder of Berklee College of Music’s unique Songwriting Department, has enjoyed a distinguished career as songwriter, composer, and arranger. His work includes such hits as “Run, Joey, Run,” which reached Billboard’s 1975 Top Five, and Angela Bofill’s “What I Wouldn’t Do (For the Love of You).” Finally,  Kai Eckhardt a German born musician and composer who plays bass, best known for his work with John McLaughlin, Vital Information, Billy Cobham and Garaj Mahal—a band he co-founded Benn is a passionate and dedicated musician, and she is constantly working on new music. She is also a vocal advocate for social justice, and she uses her music to raise awareness of important issues. Benn is an inspiration to many, and she is sure to continue to make a mark on the music world for years to come. Benn is a versatile musician with a powerful vocal range, and she is known for her soulful and expressive performances. She is also a highly skilled bassist, guitarist, keyboardist, and percussionist. Benn is also an in-demand musical director, producer, and consultant for hire. She is highly successful shows such as "Minneapolis Sound" which a live music experience of the Minneapolis catalog and history of its sound from past to present. "Evolution of the Bassist" is an in-depth exploration of some of Benn's biggest influences that she can bring in concert form and residency to educational formats. And that's just a start. Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Studied and graduated at Berklee College of Music with Lalah Hathaway, Quincy Jones III, Delfeayo Marsalis, David Dyson, Paula Cole, Juliana Hatfield, the late-Roy Hargrove, and the late-Jeff Ramsey and also worked with.
