I'm a versatile Maryland artist who captures energy through light and vibrant colors. As a person who grew up near the Chesapeake Bay, her landscapes and abstract work are inspired by the beauty of nature, often depicting the absence of human presence, liberation (“set free”), and freedom (“being free”). She portrays the personality of nature while providing the viewer the opportunity to escape and appreciate all the beauty that surrounds us.
Stephanie Scott earned her B.A. in Studio Art with a minor in Educational Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and both an A.A. in Art and a Letter of Recognition in Digital Imaging from the College of Southern Maryland.
Visual artist and graphic designer Sangeeta Kaul (online at Spicyseed Art & Design) wields her creativity as a fuel for social change, mental health awareness, and community connections. Kaul enjoys organizing events designed to coach and encourage the personal creativity of the participants. She is currently studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling as a graduate student so that she may use her passion for art in a therapeutic way.
Between painting alongside her grandmother and watching her father build reproduction antique furniture, Rosa Leff grew up seeing no distinction between fine art and craft. What mattered was that things were made by hand and done well. It is with that in mind that she creates her hand-cut paper pieces. Each of Leff’s papercuts is cut by hand from a single sheet of paper using a knife. Her cityscapes are based on photos she’s taken in her neighborhood and all over the world. Being relatively new to Howard County MD, I have spent the last 30 years in 15 different locations, following my husband's career. After earning an undergraduate degree in Painting and Printmaking at Cornell University, I spent a year working and studying in Paris, France until relocating to Baltimore, to earn a graduate degree at The Maryland Institute, College of Art, (MICA). I have won a Maryland State Arts Council Award multiple times in different categories, a Trawick Prize, and I have been published in various publications including twice in New American Paintings. I have exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across the country and internationally.
Meredith S. K. Boas (formerly Meredith S. Keating) is a life-long artist and arts advocate who comes from a long line of artists and entreprenuers. She has studied many artistic mediums, and has a bachelor's degree in Integrated Arts and four associate degrees in the disciplines of photography, graphic design and multimedia, video production, and visual communications.
