~~Hello, allow me to tell you a little about myself.
I’m retired from a career in Information Technology. I’ve had interest in art since a child. I even took a correspondence course when I was a kid - that’s an online course before the days of the Internet. Lessons, directions, and grades were exchanged via “snail mail”- Communications were slow - sometimes weeks between sending off a lesson and getting any type of response returned. I lost interest before completing the course.
Grew up in New York in the Hudson River valley. Moved to Maryland in 2000. Moved on the water in Pasadena in 2010.
Fell in love with Maryland's waterways, beaches and wildlife.
Hello! My name is Brandon Van Dyke, I'm 16 years old and I'm a traditional artist as well as a filmmaker, photographer, and musician, currently enrolled in the PVA program at Annapolis Senior High School for film and new media. Most of my pieces are semi-surreal portraits, typically involving nature and the ocean.
I grew up wanting to be an astronaut, watching the Apollo missions with rapt fascination. Looking at the world from a different angle as you would in space always intrigued me, that is, until my first algebra class. I learned that that math wasn’t my thing, and without the math, no engineering degree, no engineering degree, no space flight. So kicking around in Holland during my 8th-grade year (my father was in the Air Force), trying to figure out how I wouldn't be just another tool to society in my later life, I happened upon a person with a Canon camera with a very long lens attached. As
Conceptual and portrait photographer. She reveals the extraordinary in what she calls her ordinary life. Searching out those liminal moment, the drop that never falls, the people who never age, the bubble that never bursts.
Guevin's work exhibits throughout Maryland and has been published in both national and international magazines.
