As an artist, my body of artwork ranges from still life drawings lovingly saved by my mother, made when I was five years old, to my recent sculptures exhibited stateside and internationally. After earning a BFA from the University of Florida I went on to receive my MFA at the University of Miami, both with a focus on ceramics and sculpture. Upon graduation, I managed a fine art collection of over 4500 pieces for a Florida bank corporation.
I am a professional calligrapher with over 35 years experience. My work includes layout and design of invitations, resolutions, and various personalized commissions. Some of my clients have included the Vice President of the United States, the State Department, Crane’s Stationery, and event planners across the country.
I have always had a desire to create and much of my lettering is embellished with artwork. I have recently developed a passion for watercolor.
My love and passion for both art and nature has led me to become a fine artist, which has allowed me to express my creativity and artistic inspirations. I love to make paint dance on the canvas with bold and bright colors that represent the beauty of all the nature that surrounds us. Although I have studied art in schools such as the School of Visual arts in New York City, I am mostly a self-thought artist. I love experimenting with oils, acrylics and watercolors, however, my main choice in mediums is acrylic paints.
Julie Kraft Art was formally organized in 2012, when I started to sell prints of hobby projects I had done on my own. I experimented with methods and mediums and refined my craft. In 2019, I expanded to offer custom commissions, with clients selecting the scope, medium, and other attributes of my artwork — creating a one-of-a-kind piece for themselves or as a gift.
I am an artist living with my family in Harford County. I received a BA in fine arts from Towson University in 1998 and have my Master's in Elementary Education. Currently I am working on my portraiture technique and creating a series of paintings retelling classic fairytales.
Maryland-based artist Amy Fix earned a Master’s Degree in Fine Art in painting and has received several awards and scholarships, including the College of Graduate Studies Research and Travel Award and the Carolyn Joyner Memorial Scholarship. She has been featured in the “Exploring the Arts” magazine at Georgia Southern University. Amy exhibits nationally and has art in LaGrange Art Museum’s permanent collection. She is currently a member of Harford Artists Association, and resides in Harford County with her husband and three-year old son.
