Gayane Minasyan is a painter and collage artist whose prolific work focuses on showing the beauty of women and portraiture. She first turned to art to help relieve the stress and loneliness of disconnecting from social life, losing a dear friend and watching her native country of Armenia enter into a war, all during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and has quickly turned her work into a statement about the power of art to share messages of hope, faith and beauty.

The Crisfield Arts Syndicate (CAS) is a nonprofit organization formed in 2018 to support economic development and revitalization through promotion of artists and the arts in all forms in Crisfield, MD and surrounding areas. Gallery 413 is an art gallery opened in November 2021 by CAS to showcase visual arts. In the coming months, CAS will open a learning center for presenting all forms of art education and workshops for local artists who do not have their own spaces. We will also have limited space for performing arts. Our art education programs will be offered at low or no cost to the
In my youth I was greatly influenced by my paternal grandmother. She had given me a Lancers wine bottle that she had painted a landscape on and turned it into a lamp. Grandma also painted ceramics, saw my interest and gave me a book to teach me how to draw birds. My mother and father were very supportive and helped get me started in a hobby ceramic class.
