My experience as a Graphic Designer and Medical Illustrator in both the pharmaceutical and industrial markets began after my education at Moore College of Art, Philadelphia, PA. I have won several awards from the Art Directors Club of Philadelphia, Singer Corporation, IABC and my traveling display to recruit nurses was televised on CBS. I owned and managed my own design studio, GPN Graphics, for many years. The experience of being Sole Proprietor led to becoming Production Director for advertising agencies and pharmaceutical companies such as Pitman-Moore, K.I. Lipton, Inc.

Marian Bickerstaff, originally from Telford, PA has been painting in oil since the late 70’s starting with a paint set received as a gift. She received several awards from local shows and two blue ribbons from the Perkiomen Valley Art League shows. In 1990, one of her pieces – Skippack Barn in Snow II, was chosen for the cover of the Souderton Independent’s Christmas Insert. Eastern Shore artist. Cityscapes, landscapes and beach scapes in acrylic. Subjects include Ocean City, MD, Berlin, Snow Hill and more.
I am an oil painter from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I paint in the studio as well as en plein air.
I have been surrounded by art for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was Dutch and his family in Holland were all painters. My father was gifted as an artist later in years, as well as my mother, so I am fortunate to have been exposed at a young age, not only to painting, but music, literature and dance.
I began painting when I was seventeen, only interested in expressing my emotions. Through these expressions, a passion grew. Twelve+ years later this passion has strengthened and is still going (and growing) strong.
I was born in Ohio and raised in Delaware. Since, I have lived many areas, including Miami where my daughter was born. I love to travel and have extensive conversations about art. I hold degrees in Graphic Design and am a self-taught painter.
Give me a canvas and I will go wild!
Megan Burak is a contemporary realist artist working mostly in oil. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland at the age of four. Burak graduated in the fall of 2015 from Salisbury University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a concentration in two-dimensional art. She has won multiple awards while exhibiting in juried shows and galleries and has shown all around Maryland as well as New York and Washington D.C.
I have loved drawing as long as I can remember. Starting at age ten, I took art lessons from Anne T. Balbernie in Wayne, Pennsylvania from 1972-1978. It was a great experience. I began working in graphite, pen and ink, charcoal and scratchboard. The year of working in black and white gave me an early appreciation of light and shadow. I then moved onto soft pastel. Working in pastels is what really gave me my love for color and mixing colors. The move to painting with oils was a very exciting transition for me.
