Giulia Piera Livi is an interdisciplinary artist working in painting and installation. Her immersive rooms employ hyper-cohesive color and abstract forms to work out ideas of multi-functional art objects and curated domesticity. After earning an undergraduate degree in Painting and Printmaking at Cornell University, I spent a year working and studying in Paris, France until relocating to Baltimore, to earn a graduate degree at The Maryland Institute, College of Art, (MICA). I have won a Maryland State Arts Council Award multiple times in different categories, a Trawick Prize, and I have been published in various publications including twice in New American Paintings. I have exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions across the country and internationally.
Deborah Tomlin is a painter who relishes the feel of brushstrokes and vibrant color in her paintings. Tomlin grew up in Maryland. In 2008 she returned to her childhood home where she currently lives with her husband, two school-age children, and her aging parents. Raising children and caring for elderly parents informs her work with common themes to our human experience such as aging, loss, gender, identity, independence/dependence. Repetition and closely cropped compositions help convey this emotional content in her paintings.
Brian Michael Dunn (b.1982) creates paintings and sculptures that mine the visual language of mass reproduction. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Dunn received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting from Boston University and a Master of Fine Art from Cornell University. Dunn is an alumnus of the Hamiltonian Artists Fellowship and was awarded a DC art Bank Grant in 2020 and a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Grant in 2019. Dunn has attended the Millay Residency in Austerlitz, NY, the Byrdcliffe Residency in Woodstock, NY and the Yale Summer Painting Program in Norfolk, CT.
Judith Benderson exhibits in the Washington, DC area, most recently at American University’s Katzen Arts Center in both the AU Museum and the Katzen Rotunda, at DC Arts Center, and at BlackRock Center for the Arts, and previously participated in public art projects including DC Party Animals and Color Field Remix. She was the Cultural Property Law Enforcement Coordinator at the Justice Department with responsibility in area of law enforcement for art theft and artifact smuggling, as well as doing appraisals for the FBI Art Theft Program. Benderson has a JD from American University, a BA and
Amelia is a graduate of Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania and the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland, where she received her master’s degree in Fine Arts and Art Education. She is currently working at Prince George`s Community College, helping Adult Education students.
Originally from Poland, Amelia lived for more than eight years in Southeast Asia before relocating to Burtonsville, Maryland, where she lives with her family, two cats, and one dog.
Working at the intersection of art, culture, and politics, Ann Stoddard is an interdisciplinary artist who explores underlying connections across media, including video, installation, electronics, animation, sculpture, site-work, as well as painting, drawing, photography, and printmaking. Ann Stoddard makes art that explores space- the space around and between us, the biosphere, the noisy public space of political debate, and the cultural landscape in which art can reveal connections and challenge divisions.
Meredith S. K. Boas (formerly Meredith S. Keating) is a life-long artist and arts advocate who comes from a long line of artists and entreprenuers. She has studied many artistic mediums, and has a bachelor's degree in Integrated Arts and four associate degrees in the disciplines of photography, graphic design and multimedia, video production, and visual communications.
Maude Kasperzak was born in 1988 in Toledo, Ohio. She studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and received a BFA in Painting in 2011. From 2012-2018, she served as the Creative Director of Charm City Cakes. In 2019, Maude created MUDE Studios, an accessories and homegoods business specializing in hand-painted, ethically produced goods. Currently, her work is solely focused on expanding the colorful world of MUDE as well as her continuing her artistic practice as a painter.
